New to Parrot forum amd installing the TomTom.
« on: July 22, 2015, 09:40:57 AM »
OK, I got TomTom installed.

At first I thought I could not download to my PC, nothing happened.

The download problem was that Android Market uses a pop-up window for the download.
I had not seen that . My bad.

After downloading I tried to install the .ppk file and got the message that my 8GB SD card had not enough capacity.
After a drive to town to buy a 32GB SD card the TomTom app at last installed itself. Took about 15 minutes.

So that hurdle is taken, it seems that TomTom works.

All in all I am quite satisfied with the Parrot Asteroid smart.

Now I want to see if I can connect to the Internet by linking to my iPhone.

Hi Jos
Interested in your post, I want to get Tomtom on our PAS, is your install still functioning?. Any chance of outlining the procedure you used to get it installed and running.
Appreciate any assistance

Hello Bill,

First of all, TomTom and Parrot have stopped their working together (it seems).
See here: http://forum.parrot.com/usa/viewtopic.php?id=28997
So I do not know if it is advisable to buy TT.

But, as I wrote, the download for TT was a bit difficult for me as my pop-up blocker stopped a pop-up from TT.
When I realized that and allowed the pop-up all went well.

Place the downloaded files on a 32GB SD card and it should install.
Do not remove the SD card if you want to use TT. The SD card needs to be in place or TT will not work.

Regards, Jos

Hi Jos
Thanks for the reply
Followed your steps to install TT, no luck. The problem seems to be as mentioned in other posts on the forum that the bond between TT and Parrot has broken down a they no longer support each other. Think I'll take a back seat, let the big boys sort it out as see what transpires.
